Hospitals do not offer this service (unless it an emergency) and GP practices are no longer obliged to provide this service, there isn't a better time to add this service to your practice.

 

We train Doctors, Dentists, Audiologists, Nurses and ENT Healthcare assistants looking to start a new career or advance their skills in a small group and in a clinical environment. Our courses are designed to provide in-depth intensive clinical knowledge and practical skills and with an option to access Doctor to student 1:1 mentorship or an observation day following the course.

Our Intensive introduction to Ear Microsuction is a one day course that should provide you with all skills required to set up your own ear microsuction clinic. You will be given an handout online to study fully and to ensure that delegates participate fully in the process, you will be examined on this (we are the only course providers that do this). The course is run and managed by fully qualified and registered Doctors and medical practitioners. On the day, you will practice on a stimulator and then on each other. Models may be provided on the day.

 

Not only do you learn the skill needed, you will be taught how to set up your clinic with the minimum stress and on an affordable budget.

Topics covered within the course will include:

• Anatomy of the ear and pathology

• Otoscopic examination, including how to safely use an Otoscope

• Red flags, warning signs and when to refer on

• Understand what steps to take (and not take) in difficult cases

• Practical hands-on training for wax removal using micro-suctioning

• Be confident and safe in the endoscopic ear wax removal technique and procedure

• Understand the importance of appropriate clinical documentation

• Be aware of contraindications, infection control and the consent procedure

• How to set up a Microsuction clinic

• Health and safety & quality standard considerations
